Spring Choral Concert Special Announcement

Due to overwhelming community support and unprecedented ticket sales that sold out the May 14 Spring Choral Concert in just two days with many choir families yet to purchase seats, we have made the decision to move the location of this year’s concert from the Cary-Grove auditorium to the LOWER GYM. This decision was made so that all choir families may support their children and attend the concert comfortably with ample room for all. Following is important information regarding this change of location so that you and your family may plan accordingly.
  • Doors will now open at 6:45pm
  • The majority of audience seating will be in the bleachers; however, there will be a limited number of chairs on the gym floor to accommodate those who may have trouble with bleacher seating. Please arrive early if you require these seats.
  • If you require any handicapped accommodations, please park in the lot closest to the lower gym for ease of transportation in and out of the building.
  • Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility and look forward to seeing you Thursday evening.

Spring Choir Concert Information

Date, Performance and Arrival Times
There is only ONE PERFORMANCE of the Spring Choral Concert on Thursday, May 14 at 7:30pm. This concert features the combined Beginning Mixed Choir, combined Advanced Mixed Choir, Bel Canto Choir, Jazz Choir, and A Cappella Singers. Arrival time for ALL groups is 7:00pm. Auditorium doors will open at 7:00pm as well, so parents and students may arrive together.
Ticket Orders
Tickets for the concert will go on sale during choir class periods beginning Monday, May 11 and will continue during the choir periods until Thursday. To alleviate long lines prior to the concert, please send your student with your ticket payment (cash or check made payable to Cary-Grove High School) starting on Monday. Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors. This will be a general admission concert, meaning there will be no assigned seats. Tickets will also be available at the door should you need them.
Attendance Policy
Concerts are a logical extension of the students' in-class work and attendance is mandatory. Students were informed of this concert date in September as well as reminded frequently in the last few weeks. Work is not considered an acceptable excuse, as students have had ample time to request the evening off. In the event of an unavoidable absence, a parent note is required in advance in order for the absence to be considered for excusal. Additionally, an alternate assignment will be given to take the place of the concert grade. Failure to attend the concert without prior notification will result in a significant lowering of the student's grade.
Concert Dress
Beginning Mixed and Advanced Mixed Choirs: Combination of black, white, and gray - any combination is fine. Ladies may wear a modest-length dress, skirt, or blouse/dress pants and dress shoes (no casual flip-flops, please). Men may wear dress pants and black dress shoes; ties are optional.
PLEASE NOTE: NO GYM SHOES, JEANS, T-SHIRTS, OR SHORTS ARE ALLOWED
Bel Canto: Formal concert dresses, black dress shoes
A Cappella: Formal concert apparel, black dress shoes, black socks for men

Thank you for your continued support - your children have worked very hard to prepare an enjoyable and musical evening and we look forward to seeing at the performance!
